The Bay Area held an innovation roundtable
The Bay Area held an innovation roundtable in 2007 – the topic was innovation 3.0 and how the Valley can lead the world. You can find the report of proceedings on this web-site. Key conclusions were:
The region (the Bay Area) must work collaboratively—across both public and private sectors—to address the challenges, manage the complexities, and build on existing strengths.
The region should promote innovation leadership by operating within a global innovation environment while retaining a local innovation leadership position.
Innovation is enhanced through the creation of a networking or “brokering” environment.
It is of paramount importance for a regional leader in innovation to continue to attract and retain a highly talented workforce
Very interesting! So where do we stand in the O2C Arc? Is collaboration across the Arc strong and effective? Is the O2C arc securely positioned in global innovation-industrial platforms? Are the networks that operate through-out the Arc effective? Who is our regional innovation leader? Will the use of local innovation teams (move to be made by SEEDA) make the situation better or worse? Is the Arc attracting the best talent from around the world? What are the ‘ties that bind’ the Arc and its peer group innovation hotspots around the world – have your say!
